FAQs

  • Not at this time.

But we do have a broad network of over 200 investors - funds as well as angels - who are excited to see deals in the sector. If you are a VC or angel interested in joining the network, please contact investors@parenthoodventures.com.

    • Startups must be targeting exponential growth, with a goal of serving millions of parents or children, or their care providers and loved ones.

    • Concepts must be highly scalable - for example, digital services, or consumer goods.

    • There is no requirement that startups be seeking external funding.

    • The core service or product must be for the benefit of parents or children, either directly or indirectly. For example, parent-mediated forms of education are a better fit than traditional EdTech serving the goals of a school district.

  • No.

Many of our teams are led by moms, but many others are led by dads, aunts, uncles, and non-parents building solutions relating to an experience from their own childhood, from their professional background - or because they “get” the tremendous potential of this sector.

We take seriously the additional hurdles in building startups and securing funding faced by certain groups - including women, people of color, people living with disability, and people with an intersectional identity across multiple of these - and work to support those founders in leveling the playing field. But we are also here to drive excitement in the sector from anyone and everyone inspired to build a better future for parents and children.

  • No. But we do love moms and are led by one!

We firmly believe the future of Parenthood is truly a team sport, and especially welcome products and services that serve parents and caregivers of any gender, age, race, ethnic group, LGBTQ+ status, disability, marital status, childcare decision and more.

Some stages of the parenthood journey - for example IVF, pregnancy, postpartum, ‘maternity’ leave and lactation - do bring unique experiences to individual participants within a family, especially in the early days.

And historic cultural norms have rendered ‘moms’ the default consumer of information, and primary decision maker or user of products and services, at a greater risk of judgment in the event of a misstep.

So we are home to both solutions who serve specific groups, and plenty of others who take a more holistic, inclusive approach.

  • Yes. Our platform hosts many B2B services, including employee benefits, tools for pediatrician’s offices, Fintech solutions. Our main requirement is that the product or service tangibly deliver an enhanced experience for parents and children, and ideally this audience engages with the product or service directly.

  • Any stage of parent-tech is welcome. Our core platform orients toward the early stages, but we have a growing group of later-stage leaders for whom we provide light-touch programming and are always glad to welcome as speakers, mentors and friends of the program.

  • Please see our startups page for examples.

  • No. Around 80% of our startups are US based, and our content and programming is in English, but we are home to a robust and growing group of startups around the world.

  • Yes. We are always glad to hear from content creators, non-profit organizations, authors, consulting organizations, and leaders of communities on platforms like Facebook. We partner with them in different ways, although this is separate from our core founder platform.
